The second edition of our Chairman, Julian Dent’s book, Distribution Channels, is now at the printers and will be launched soon.
The major new feature is a complete new section on the franchising route to market. Having spent the last ten years immersed in the franchising sector, driving the development of international and global strategic plans for one of the world’s largest franchise systems, I was able to share my insights as to when and how to adopt franchising as a growth strategy and to explain how best to engage with franchise systems as an account.
There is also a wealth of new material woven throughout the book on the implications of web 2.0 and the social media phenomenon.
Since the first edition came out in 2008, the book has been translated in Chinese, Arabic and Russian, showing the demand for distribution channel insight in the world’s emerging economies. As it has also been reprinted in English, I guess that shows the world’s established economies also have a demand.
The second edition will be accompanied by a complete set of teaching resources to respond to the demand from Business Schools and Universities – and these will be avaialable through the publisher, Kogan Page.
